Puppy Training & Enrichment Class

With engagement, we are asking our dogs to have a meaningful connection with us, and to be fully involved in the activity we are doing. But in order to have full participation and truly meaningful connection, it must be voluntary! The dog must CHOOSE to engage. We want him to strongly desire that opportunity for engagement and seek it whenever possible, even when other distractions are present.

Through Engagement you will be able to develop a dog that actively references you in any context and situation.  You will become central to your dog’s education and life experiences.  The training process will become a joy for both dog and handler.  It is from this foundation that you will be able to develop a deep, dynamic, and successful training and life partnership with your dog.

An engaged dog is more than just a dog that is looking at us directly. With an engaged dog, we not only have their eyes, but we also have their mind. As anyone who has heeled their dog around the squirrel or another dog knows, we can very well have the appearance of focus, yet the dog’s mind is clearly elsewhere. With true engagement, we have both eyes and mind.

The training process will become a joy for both dog and handler.  It is from this foundation that you will be able to develop a deep, dynamic, and successful training and life partnership with your dog.

This class you will learn proper use of food, proper play toys, proper chew toys, good games to play,  housebreaking, crate training, socialization, preventing and fixing nipping and mouthing, dealing with whining and barking, and more. Commands your puppy will learn:  come, sit, down, kennel/bed, place, heel/ loose leash walking, off and  a release command. This class also focuses on confidence building, socialization, proper play, relationship development.

Ultimate Unleashed Class

This is the ultimate class for you and your dog.

We will introduce you and your dog as well as basic commands sit, down, stay, place,  basic leash walking and come when called. Building upon your dog’s comprehension of basic obedience commands, we will show you how to increase your dog’s attentiveness in the face of everyday distractions.   Exercises include Front, Centre, Position Changes, Moving Positions and Finish to Heel. Your dog will learn to follow you, how to have a calm state of mind, opposition reflex, adding distractions and disengagement and taking it out in the real world.

Your dog will also be off-leash with 100% trust has so many benefits. It helps ten-fold with exercise because they are not confined to a leash, you gain plenty of trust with your dog, socializing is made much easier, and it’s obviously a safety issue! So what is an e-collar used for, exactly? We call it an “invisible leash”. We teach the dog that the e-collar and the leash mean the same thing. The collar is controlled by a remote that the handler holds. The remote allows you to maintain full control of your dog for up to 400 yards! Therefore, it gives your dog a lot of freedom and it saves you from worrying about your dog running off!

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website. Please read it over as most of the questions we are asked are listed.

We are accepting new clients for all services and we currently have availability for all dates.

All dogs over 5 months require an evaluation for all of our services.

How to book an evaluation

  • Click on the main page REGISTER A NEW ACCOUNT

Upload our required Vaccinations  (Titer tested accepted)

  • DH2PP (Parvo, Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza)
  • Rabies
  • Bordetella– optional or our waiver signed.
  • Negative annual fecal test–  The fecal test is where you take your dog’s poop sample to the vet. It should check for Roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and microscopic intestinal parasites (like coccidia and Giardia). Please note that depending on the vet this can take 3-5 days for the results.
  • Brucellosis is required for rescue dogs not born in Canada or the mainland US.

When we have validated the vaccinations on our end we will reach out and ask what kind of evaluation you are looking for. Please let us know as well as your availability.

We do not have an office person on staff and if we are working with dogs/clients we may not be able to answer your call. Please email us.
